Thank you for visiting our website.  We're glad you found us here.  I have been ministering to this church and the neighborhood since 2001.  Before this I was a pastor in Wisconsin and Michigan.   Coming to Seattle was like coming home for me, as I grew up in Ephrata Washington and went to Seattle Pacific University.

 "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly",  (John 10":10) .  Christ offers to us a life marked by forgiveness, peace, joy and purpose.   This we believe is possible through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

At H.L.B.C. our purpose is to Learn about God, Live like Jesus and Love people.  We learn about a God through study of the Bible, which we take very seriously as the completely inspired and trustworthy Word of God.   We live like Jesus by growing in our faith and applying God's Word to our lives.  As followers of Christ our goal is to become more and more like Jesus in his moral perfection. 
Finally we work to love people, even as God has first loved us.  God has demonstrated his love for us supremely in sending his one and only Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins.  Now God fills us with His love so that we might love one another.
